| Laila Harbert has left Arsenal Women to join San Diego Wave on a permanent transfer, marking another significant departure for the Gunners.
Harbert, a 19-year-old midfielder, came through Arsenal's academy and signed a professional deal in January 2025. She had previously spent time on loan with Portland Thorns in the NWSL.
The move reunites Harbert with former Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall, who is now in charge of San Diego Wave. The team is currently fourth in the NWSL.
Harbert's departure is the latest in a series of exits for Arsenal Women, who have signed midfielders Geraldine Reuteler and Georgia Stanway in a busy transfer window.
League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 2nd in FA WSL, 51 pts, 15W-6D-1L from 22 games, recent form WWWDW. The Gunners are 4 points behind leaders Manchester City W.
Harbert's goalscoring record for Arsenal Women was impressive, with 53 goals scored in the 2025-26 season, a +39 goal difference.
The move is a significant blow to Arsenal Women, who will need to find new talent to fill the void left by Harbert's departure. |
